Either way, I hope we can help provide a little insight on getting started with some great basic video equipment. Video Equipment

What does Storm Vibes Radio use? Well, depending on what type of content we are producing or live streaming, we currently use two different pieces of video equipment.

Canon Vixia HF R700 and (2) Logitech C920 Webcams



The Canon Vixia HF R700 (starting from $199 – $250) is a great camcorder for those just starting out. It’s also quite compact and easily fits into your pocket, purse or backpack.  The Canon Vixia HF R800 ($250.00)is now available as well.

The Canon Vixia HF R700 comes equipped with a nice 57X zoom feature as well. Check out our zoom test of the zoom in search of martians.


If you’re a little more advance or a big starter out of gate then something along the lines of the CanonXA35 might be for you.  The Canon XA35 Professional Camcorder comes with a hefty price tag of around $2,099.00. This camcorder is equipped with full HD 1920 x 1080 recording capabilites, HD/SD-SDI output and has built in Wi-Fi with the capability to transfer files via FTP.

Last but most certainly not least is the Panasonic Lumix G7 4K Camera. This revolutionary Panasonic offers 24 compact interchangeable lens options. The amazing 4K Ultra HD vidoe delivers an intense viewing experience when compared again Full HD. This 4K Mirrorless camera comes with a price tag of around $597.99.
